“When PDD installed meters in our area we were told that we would get power supply round the clock, but their promises turned out to be a hoax,” residents said.

The situation in un-metered and remote villages of Karnah such as, Kandi, Jabdi, Gabra, Jada, Nachiyan and Baghbella is facing acute power shortage. “PDD resorts to continuous power cuts,” locals said.
While reports from the resident of Kandi Bala Village stated that their transformer was set a some years back afterwards many other households were added with the transformer exceeding the supply capacity of the said transformer which lead to weak voltage even LEDs bulbs are not working properly. Locals also registered this issue with AEE PDD but nothing has been done yet in this issue. People also staged a protest against the PDD.

“Even in the evenings, the electricity plays hide and seek. We have approached government several times to provide us normal supply, but rather than improving supply, it has deteriorated,” they said. The students said that they couldn’t prepare for exams because of power cuts. “We can’t study properly as electricity plays hide and seek,” said a student.
