SHOPIAN, MARCH 16: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today chaired a Mega Public Darbar at Moaj Park Vehil Shopian, where he met locals and public representatives to take first hand appraisal of public issues at their doorsteps.

At the outset, PRI members, village elders from the area raised various public welfare issues and developmental requirements in the area.

The locals demanded upgradation of schools, improvement in HT, LT lines and health-care facilities, repairs of irrigation canals, upgradation of Water Supply Schemes, etc.

The DC, on the occasion, called for holistic development of the area by synergetic approach of all stakeholders and impressed upon the concerned to ensure prompt redressal of public issues raised during the public Darbar.

He also asked for active participation of Pani Samitis in better implementation of JJM works in the area, aimed to provide drinking water to all households.

Later, the DC inspected PHC Vehil and took stock of the health care facilities being provided to the patients there and directed the health functionaries to work with dedication and provide all amenities and facilities to the patients and people visiting the centre.

Among others, Joint Director Planning, Khursheed Ahmad Khatana; ACD, Hilal Ahmad Jeri, BDO and concerned officers and officials were present on the occasion.
