DC Anantnag conducts extensive tour of Industrial Estates

ANANTNAG, MARCH 15: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today conducted a comprehensive tour of various industrial estates in Anantnag to assess their development and address any issues.

The DC visited DIC Anantnag, Industrial Estate Anchidora, Industrial Estate Bijbehara and Industrial Estate at Vessu.

During the tour, the DC discussed various issues, including safety for industrial workers, quality control of products, power supply, disposal of waste produced, marketability of the products and access to local and domestic markets in other states besides opportunities for increasing scale.

Dr Basharat emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene and investing in further development of units. He also encouraged the employment of qualified youth passing out of ITIs to increase scale and profits while generating livelihoods for others.

He also highlighted the potential for collaboration between units and the administration for the development of the district under the CSR initiative. Additionally, he issued directions for a fire audit of various units.

During the tour, the DC inspected several units, including Palka Foods, Arfat, Royal Steel, Diamond Power, Kashmir Electricals, Kashmir Harvest, Hi Fi Furniture, Al-Sehat, and Zenith Cardboard. The unit holders also had the opportunity to put forth their issues, and the DC assured them of time-bound redressal of grievances.

The DC was accompanied by ADC Anantnag Dr. SM Ashraf; JD Planning, Mohd Ashraf Mir; SDM Dooru, Functional Manager DIC, General Manager SICOP, Tehsildar Qazigund and others.
