KARNAH // Newlight Public Model School Chitrakot Karnah started a plantation drive under the Green India campaign by the Department of Social Forestry. During the event, pine tree saplings were planted in the school premises. The department educated the students about the importance of plants. Dignitaries of the area, teachers and students of the school participated in this campaign. The school administration appreciated the work of the department. Under the direction of Sajid Qureshi, range officer of the department, a team of social forestry reached the school where they planted saplings. Talking to the school children, they said that trees are planted. Plantation is utmost duty of every citizen because they not only provide us with oxygen to survive but they also provide many other benefits to us. School principal Imtiaz Ahmad Khan said in his speech that we are extremely grateful to the department, also added that we provide information to the children about the importance of trees and plants in schools, but with this campaign the children planted trees in the school premises with their own hands this provided some practical work.The Sarpanch of Chitrakot was also present in this campaign. Who appreciated the work of the department and expressed hope that the department will organize such programs in the future as well and give people this information from time to time about the importance of trees and plants in our society.
