DC Anantnag reviews functioning of Health, Education departments

ANANTNAG, MARCH 07: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom today reviewed the functioning of health and education departments in the district with particular focus on completion of works related to these two sectors in the district taken up under District CAPEX and other schemes.

Apprising the chair about the educational scenario in the district, the Chief Education Officer, Anantnag presented status of various parameters including teacher pupil ratio, distribution of staff across the schools in the district, improvements in enrolment ratio and steps being taken for bringing back out of school children, lab facilities in schools, infrastructure projects under execution under different heads, steps taken under technical innovation program, etc.

Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag presenting the performance in the health sector, gave a brief on the health facilities in the district and availability of staff and ambulances across the district. He shared the progress of works being taken up in the health sector.

The DC highlighted the importance of education in personality development of children and ensuring that they become positive contributors in the nation building process.

He issued directions to the Executive Engineers of implementing agencies for early completion of all pending works both physically and financially within the stipulated timeline.

He pressed on the officials from Health Department to ensure saturation of coverage of beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat. He also exhorted the officials of the education department to rationalize staff deployment and ensure teacher pupil ratio in far flung areas is improved.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, JD Planning, CMO, CEO, Executive Engineer, School Division, ACR, Medical Superintendents, BMOs, DEPO among others.
