Bandipora Mar 02: A Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament (MP), Ghulam Ali Khatana, said on Thursday that the development in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir is a top priority of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the workers’ convention in Sumbal, he said that J&K is moving towards peace. “Poor people are happy; lenders are doing their job without any hesitation; it was the first time in the last year our opposition leader visited Gulmarg; it is because of peace.”

“Election is our priority in Jammu and Kashmir. We hope elections will be conducted soon in the valley by the Election Commission of India.” “The poor will not be touched as LG has already given assurance to them,” he said.

He was addressing a workers convention in Sumbal area along with vice president Bharatiya Janata Party district president Naseer Mir and other senior party workers, in which thousands of party workers participated.

He also said that those leaders who have misused their powers will face action, whether they encroached on land or used any government policy for their personal reasons.

“People are moving freely on the streets; students are regularly going to school; everything is normal in J&K,” he also added.
