Bandipora, February 26: To promote tourism, the army organized a snow festival in the snow-bound valley of Gurez in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, complete with snow cricket on a frozen track.  The festival, which aims to promote winter tourism and the unique culture of Gurez, was launched at Dawar Gurez.  An official said’ that during the opening snow cricket premier league match of the winter festival, Gurez. A total of three matches were played on the first day, and the matches were filled with thrilling moments, including spectacular catches, big sixes, and nerve-wracking run chases. The spectators were treated to some excellent cricketing skills, and they cheered their teams on with great enthusiasm.   The most exciting sports tournaments in the Gurez Valley are those in which eight teams will participate. The tournament attracted a large number of cricket enthusiasts from across the valley.   “Snow Cricket Premier League is highly appreciated by the youth and locals are thrilled on getting opportunity  and platform for young cricketers from the region to showcase their talent”  Apart from snow cricket, sports like snowboarding, tube pulling, and volleyball will also be conducted.   The tournament is also an excellent opportunity for the people of Gurez to come together and celebrate their love for cricket.  Locals hailed the efforts of the Indian Army for promoting winter tourism in the Gurez Valley.
