Ganderbal 18 feb: District President Ganderbal extended his greeting to the people of Kashmir on the occasion of Shab-e-Mehraj and Haerath to Hindus especially Kashmiri muslims and pandits respectively. Shah extended his warm greeting to people to India, Kashmir and particularly Ganderbal. He said that this event celebrates in the night when the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ascended to the heavens from Masjid  Al – Haram in Makkah. In the Israʾ part of the journey, Muhammad (PBUH) is said to have traveled on the back of Buraq to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, where he led other prophets in prayer. In the next part of the journey, the Miʿraj, he ascended into heaven, where he individually greeted the prophets and later spoke to Allah, who gave Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) instructions to take back to the Muslims regarding the details of prayer. The journey and ascent are marked as one of the most celebrated dates in the Islamic calendar.
