SWM (G) phase-ll: DC Gbl discusses finalization of District Sanitation Plan

GANDERBAL, FEBRUARY 17: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir convened a District Level Committee meeting for SWM-G to discuss the finalization of District Sanitation Plan under saving of the 14th FC B2V.  At the outset, a detailed discussion was held regarding various activities like purchasing of Garbage collection vans, procurement of e-Rikshws for waste transportation, safety gear/Tool kits, purchasing of Bailing machine, purchasing of shredders, Installation of retro reflective signages with sanitation slogans, hoarding structure for IEC, procurement of Jute/khadi grocery bags, Procurement of Shamiyana for IEC activities and other related activities.  After discussing the pros and cons of the proposed activities, the committee finalized the plan of activities of SBM-G under savings of the 14th FC B2V along with the interest amount comprising 11 number of activities with tentative cost of Rs. 531.86 lakh earmarked for infrastructure development regarding SWM.  The DC also took a brief review regarding the progress of different verticals of SBM-G including Solid/Liquid waste management.  A threadbare discussion was held among the members of the committee for exploring the options of forward linkages to ensure end-to-end chain in the solid waste management in the rural areas of the district.  The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr. Bashir Ahmad, ACP, DBOs and other concerned.
