Pedestrian killed in Pattan road accident

Srinagar, Feb 08, : A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday evening.

Reports reaching news agency Kashmir Dot Com said that a pedestrian identified as Ashiq Hussain Sheikh (37), a resident of Kunzar Tangmarg was hit by a ‘speedy’ vehicle on Srinagar-Baramulla highway near Hanjiwara area this evening.

Ashiq was immediately shifted to Trauma hopital Pattan where doctors declared him dead, the vehicle has fled from the spot, they said.

Meanwhile, police have launched a man hunt to nab the driver, trace the vehicle and a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in this regard. (KDC)
