Srinagar, Feb 07 : After the faceoff incident between Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) employees and traffic cops, the corporation on Tuesday ordered suspension of two if its employees with immediate effect. An order issued by SMC, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads that it has come to the notice of competent Authority that Niyaz Ahmad Gabroo I/C Ward Officer Ward No. 30 and Ovais Farooq Khan Tax Assistant Ward 30 have indulged in a conduct, which is unbecoming on part of a civil servant. “Pending enquiry into the matter Niyaz Ahmad Gabroo I/C Ward Officer Ward No. 30 and Mr. Ovais Farooq Khan Tax Assistant Ward 30 are put under suspension with immediate effect and shall remain attached in the office of Secretary, Srinagar Municipal Corporation,” the order added. Ghulam Hassan Mir, Joint Commissioner Planning SMC, shall do the detailed enquiry and submit a detailed report within 7 days, it reads, adding that ” Ward Officer from Ward No.3I shall hold the charge of Ward Officer Ward No. 30 in addition to his own duties till further orders
