JAMMU, FEBRUARY 7: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department (SDD), Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, today chaired an officers’ meeting to review functioning of the department besides assessing settlement of audit paras pertaining to SDD pending with the office of Principal Accountant General J&K (audit).  Principal Secretary took stock of implementation of various schemes being implemented by SDD in the UT. He exhorted upon the officers to work with utmost zeal so that the all ongoing development works could be completed within the prescribed timelines.  The meeting had a threadbare discussion on various audit paras pertaining to the Skill Development Department in ITIs and Polytechnics.  While examining the present status of pending audit paras, Principal Secretary directed all the heads of Polytechnics and ITIs to coordinate with the Accountant General office (audit) and work towards settlement of all the pending audit paras concerning their respective institutions on priority.  It was informed in the meeting that, presently, there are 229 audit paras pending for settlement.  Appreciating efforts of the department for getting about 296 audit paras dropped, Principal Secretary directed the concerned officers to step up efforts for speedy settlement of all the pending audit paras pertaining to Skill Development Department.  Among other, senior officers of SDD, Principals of Polytechnics, Superintendents of ITIs, and other concerned officers attended the meeting personally and virtually.
