Army organises Mushroom Farming training for locals at Banihal

RAMBAN, FEBRUARY 07: Indian Army, in collaboration with various Government departments, started a new initiative for empowering locals by promoting cash crops in the region.   The Indian Army today conducted a demonstration session about mushroom farming in coordination with the Agriculture Department which was attended by the 15 local needy people of Banihal tehsil of Ramban district selected for the project. The event aimed at promoting cash farming in remote areas and providing financial independence to the beneficiaries.  Demonstration session endeavored teaching about scientific techniques of farming to get maximum output. A classroom with information boards was created for them, and two professionals were hired to conduct and guide the people. The participants were also given raw material for learning and subsequently for farming.  The participants were excited and expressed their gratitude towards the government and Indian Army for the nobel initiative. Their visible enthusiasm and zeal to undertake this event assured a progressive mindset in the community.
