Karnah // After the recent snowfall in Karnah, affected power supply has been restored, however, the administration is facing difficulties in removing snow from several internal roads including the Karnah-Kupwara highway. The transmission line which reaches Karna via Sadhana Top was damaged and electricity transmission lines and poles were lying on the ground at several places. The power supply was restored to Karna by repairing the power transmission lines from the sadhna top where there is currently about 8 feet of snow. Administration has said in an advisory that there has been heavy snowfall in the area, so people are asked to avoid traveling to upper and higher areas because of the process of avalanches and rock falls in these areas. A senior officer of the administration said that the electricity supply has been restored in the area and snow has been removed from most of the main and internal roads. The officer said that talks are going on with the Beacon Department on the restoration of the Karna Kupwara highway and District Development Commissioner Kupwara has issued instructions to the officers that people should not be disturbed in any area.
