Sumbal: 56 year old man drowned in the river Jhelum in Sumbal area of north Kashmir district of Bandipora on Saturday was waiting for boat on the river bank at sumbal when he suddenly slipped and fell into it.
Rescue operation was immediately launched but he could not be saved. Later, the body was retrieved and handed over to family after medical and legal formalities, Official said .
