Handwara,Prompted by complaints of encroachment of roads and footpaths, Tehsil administration Handwara along with Handwara municipal Comittee (HMC) Friday removed street vendors from various spots in the town to ease traffic congestions and ensure free movement of pedestrians on footpaths. During the drive, encroachments on footpaths and roadsides were removed and street vendors were warned of strict penal action in case they continue to occupy the place. While talking to media”Chairman Municipal Committee Handwara Masroor banday Said, “These drives would continue by tehsil administration along with HMC Handwara and Police.Strict action under law will be taken against those found guilty of encroaching public spaces. Under rules, we will seize their goods and other article in case they encroach upon footpaths and roads. We will not allow anyone to create hindrance in traffic and pedestrian .
