SHOPIAN, JANUARY 20: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today chaired a review meeting on Draft Master Plan and Sustainable City Development Plan of Shopian Town. At the outset, DC deliberated upon the 08 Plans for Urban Development viz City Development Plan, City Livelihood Plan, City Smart Vending Plan, City Tourism and Culture Plan, Environment Free Town Plan, Green City Plan, Facade Improvement Plan, Drainage/Sewerage and Street Lighting Plan. The DC asked for expediting the pre-execution processes on sustainable and smart lines. He also passed directions to build momentum on key milestones regarding urban development, including the Draft Master Plan which must be formulated keeping in view the needs of the people and the environment and respecting limits to development besides to examine new areas for development. The meeting was attended by President Municipal Council Shopian, Councillors, EO MC Shopian, Executive Engineers of PHE, R&B and PDD, Secretary MC Shopian and other concerned.
