MVD Kupwara organizes valedictory function at Town Hall Kupwara DC Kupwara appeals stakeholders for driving responsibly on roads

KUPWARA, JANURAY 17: Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Kupwara today organized an impressive function here at Town Hall Kupwara to mark the culmination of the ongoing Road Safety Week.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray was chief guest on the occasion.
ADC Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat; ARTO Kupwara, Anees Ahmad, besides, Presidents of different Transport Associations, transporters and other concerned attended the function.
Addressing the function, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the MVD Kupwara for successful conduct of the Road Safety Week. He said that Road Safety Week is celebrated ever year with the objective to sensitize the stakeholders about the need to make the road safety measures as a habit. He said there has been a rampant campaign for ensuring road safety and appealed the stakeholders to drive responsibly on the road to ensure safety of themselves and others as well.
ARTO Kupwara said that the Road Safety Week was celebrated from 11th to 17th January in the district adding that various activities were carried out by the MVD Kupwara during the week which include organizing of mass awareness camps, Eye checkup and blood donation camps. He appealed the participants especially transporters to avoid overspeeding, wrong overtaking, mobile phone using and excessive load carrying for their own safety and others.
Other speakers also spoke and highlighted the importance of celebrating Road Safety Week.
On the occasion, certificates of appreciation were distributed among the persons for their best performance during the Road Safety Week.
