KATHUA JANUARY 16: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress achieved under the PHE sector including implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.   At the outset, Superintendent Engineer Hydraulic Sanjeev Malhotra apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the financial and physical progress achieved under JJM in the district.   While briefing about the status of ongoing JJM works, the SE apprised the meeting that 829 works have been sanctioned  of which 314 works have been allotted so far. He further informed that 178 Borewells, 106 Tube Wells, 14 Dugwells, 171 OHTs, 15 Rapid Sand Filtration Plants, 299 Piped Network and 46 Slow Sand Filtration Plants will be completed in the district in line with clarion call of Prime Minister to provide Functional Household Tap Water Connections (FHTCs).    The DC directed the SE Hydraulic to prioritize the works taken up under JJM so that all the schemes can be completed within set timelines.   To ensure uninterrupted execution of works, the DC stressed on obtaining clearances from the Forest department prior to initiation of the works. He also called for fulfilling the codal formalities so as to facilitate easy approval from the PARIVESH portal.           Underlining the need of achieving financial progress within set timelines, the DC called upon the engineers to speed up the works so as to rule out any chance of carrying forward any financial liabilities.   The DC also took a detailed review of all ongoing projects under Ground Water, Irrigation, and Flood Control and laid thrust on completing all projects within the stipulated time frame.   ADDC Kathua, Ankur Mahajan, XEN PHE, Vikram Dogra, Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh, ACD Kishore Singh Katoch and Engineers of Irrigation, Flood Control, DFOs, AAOs and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
