Thursday, Jan 13, 2023 Ganderbal, Jan 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Women Helpline (WHL-181) organized awareness programme in local buses at Kangan, Prang, Wusson, Wangat areas of Ganderbal District . The WHL-181 is a project of the Union Ministry of Women and child Development and it is being run by State resource Centre for Women of Department of Social Welfare in J&K. Speaking on the occasion, project coordinator WHL-181 Bilal Bhat highlighted the overall services provided by the helpline. Giving details, he said the helpline provides 24-hour immediate response to women in distress and represent them before the appropriate service providers such as police, MSK, FCC, and Legal authorities. He said the One Stop Centre (SAKHI-OSC) also provides services like hospital assistance, emergency response, and psychological support /counseling, temerity shelter, etc. Bhat further informed the participants that they can get help from the helpline in case of domestic violence, dowry abuse, mental torture, sexual assault, eve-teasing, cyber-crime, child sexual abuse, rape, economical violence or any other distress situation .
