BARAMULLA, DECEMBER 31: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a District Level Review Committee and District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) meeting to review the performance of Banks operating in the district and line departments under District Credit Plan 2022-23 for the quarter ended September 2022 at Dak Bungalow, here.
The meeting discussed in detail the progress and achievements made by the banks under priority sectors like Agriculture, MSME, GSS and other micro schemes to weaker sections of the society. Giving detailed summary of the achievements for the quarter ended September 2022 under District Credit Plan, Lead District Manager, Baramulla Javed Rasheed informed the house that the banks in the district have disbursed an amount of Rs.1555.36 crores to 62379 beneficiaries against the yearly target of Rs. 4272.52 crores to 108729 beneficiaries thus achieving 36% of District Credit Plan, 2022-23. Further, the meeting was informed that the total deposits of the district have increased from Rs. 5844.02 crores as on.30.09.2021 to Rs. 6039.37 crores as on 30.09.2022 witnessing a growth of 3.34% on YOY basis while advances have increased from Rs. 5502 crores as on 30.09.2021 to Rs. 6055.57 crores on 30.09.2022 registering a growth of 10.06% on YOY basis.
Giving overview of credit disbursement through different schemes, the Lead District Manager informed the house that the credit disbursement of Rs. 855 crores has been provided to 39799 beneficiaries of the district under Agriculture, MSME and other activities have been disbursed among the beneficiaries so far. Similarly, under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna an amount of Rs. 108 crores has been disbursed among 5478 beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC advised all the banks and sponsoring agencies to work with co-operation, coordination and cohesion to achieve targets and goals for the development and progress besides generation of employment for the youth in the district.
The DDC appreciated the performance of the J&K Bank and advised all other banks to put in strenuous efforts and up their respective achievements viz-a-viz targets.
He also directed all the banks and line departments to conduct awareness programs at Village/ Block/ Panchayat level to increase awareness among the people about social security schemes, developmental and employment generation programs of the government in the district.
Later, the Potential-linked Credit Plan prepared by DDM NABARD for 2023-24 was launched by Dr Sehrish in a District Level Consultative Committee meeting at Dak Bungalow here.
The total credit potential for 2023-24 under priority sector for the district Baramulla is estimated at Rs 3213.15 Cr, with a growth rate of 2.00 per cent over projection for the year 2022-23, said District Development Manager, NABARD Zubair Wasil.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning M Yousuf Rather, Chief Agriculture officer, Yadvinder Singh, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Balbir Singh, DDM NABARD, Zubair Wasil, Cluster Head, Shabir Ahmad Bulla, officers from line departments and representatives from banks.
