Budgam, 29th December 2022: As a part of Public outreach programme, Budgam Police today organized *’Thana Diwas’* at Police Station Beerwah, Police Station Khag,Police Station Khansahib, Police Post Humhama and Police Post Soibugh. At Police Station Beerwah, the event was chaired by SHO Beerwah *Inspr. Firdous Ahmed*. Besides trade fraternity of Beerwah,sarpanchs , panchs, numberdars, chowkidars, transport union representatives and other respectables of the society attended the event. During the event, issues of public interest were discussed among which the issues like Drug menace, rising social evils and public services delivery received comparatively larger attention. During the event, all the grievances were heard and were segregated on the basis of area of action and jurisdiction.The attendees were assured that all the grievances pertaining to Police department will be dealt as per the law of the land and remaining grievances lying outside the domain of Police department will be taken up with the concerned departments under laid down procedure. During the event, the cooperation of general public in eradication of Drug abuse, social crimes etc was sought. It was said that these events play an instrumental role in bridging the vacuum between Police and General Public and transforming police force into responsible, transparent, accountable and sensitive to public demands. Similarly, at Police Station Khag *”Thana Diwas”* was observed which was chaired by *A.S.I Naseer Ahmed* and other officers of Police Station Khag.The event was attended by respectable citizens of Khag, and other respectables of other adjacents of Khag. During the event, some issues were raised by the participants.The chairing officer assured them that their genuine issues will be taken up with the higher ups for their early redressal. At Khansahib *Thana Diwas”* was observed at “Marriage Hall Arigam” which was organised by Police Station Khansahib. The event was chaired by SHO Police Station Khansahib *Insp.Sameer Lone* The meeting was attended respectables of arigam and adjoining areas.Officials from civil departments like PDD, PHE & revenue also participated. During the meeting, participants highlighted various issues of public importance like road development, Macadimization,water shortages, power supply etc.They were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority. The issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. At Police Station Chadoora *Thana Diwas”* was observed which was chaired by *S. I Farooq Ahmed & S.I Mudasir Shafi* The meeting was attended respectables of Chadoora and adjoining areas, members of trade federation Chadoora also participated. During the meeting, participants highlighted various issues of public importance like road development, Macadimization,water supply establishment of Fire Station, parking issues etc.They were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority. The issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. At Police Post Humhama *Thana Diwas”* event was chaired by Incharge Chowk officer *Insp.Imtiyaz Ahmed* The meeting was attended by respectables of Humhama and traders union Humhama. During meeting, participants highlighted various grievances/ issues of public importance. They were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and grievances pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with concerned Departments for their redressal. At Police Post Soibugh *Thana Diwas”* event was chaired by Incharge Chowk officer Soibugh *S.I Gowhar Ahmed* The meeting was attended by respectables of Soibugh and other adjoining areas. During meeting, participants highlighted various grievances/ issues of public importance. They were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and grievances pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with concerned Departments for their redressal. The participants appreciated the role of police for conducting such type of meetings and assured their full support and cooperation in curbing the menace of social evils of the society. The participants appreciated the gesture of Budgam Police and assured cooperation in eradication of social evils from the area. “Invariably all the participants expressed their gratitude to Budgam Police for organizing *’Thana Diwas’* at Police Station level across the District”.
