DGP J&K sanctions meritorious scholarship of over rupees 10.58 lakhs in favour of 153 wards of serving police personnel

Jammu, December 28: Encouraging and appreciating the hard work of the wards of Police personnel who have excelled in Graduation/Post Graduation & class 12th annual examination during the academic session 2021-2022, the Director General of Police, J&K Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarship of over rupees 10.58 lakhs in favour of 153 wards of serving police personnel.

Vide order number 4242 of 2022 issued by PHQ, the DGP has sanctioned rupees 7200/- each in favour of 59 students who have secured more than 90% marks and rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of
79 students who have secured 80% to 90% marks in the Annual Examination of class 12th during the academic session of 2021-22. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.

Similarly vide PHQ order number 4243 of 2022 the DGP has sanctioned meritorious scholarship of over rupees 1.60 lakh in favour of 15 wards of serving police personnel who have secured above 80% marks in graduation and post graduation examination during the academic session of 2021-22. Rupees 8500 each has been sanctioned in favour of those 09 wards who have secured above 80% marks in graduation. While as rupees 18000 and rupees 12000 each has been sanctioned in favour of those 06 wards who have secured above 80% and above 90% marks in the annual examination of post graduation.

Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, for wards of martyred and serving/retired Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale.

During the current year till date scholarships over rupees 1.63 crore have been sanctioned in favour of wards of serving/martyrs/retired police personnel and SPOs who have excelled in the annual examinations or to support them to pursue academic education.
