Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
During naka checking at Wagar Khansahib, Police party of Police Station Khansahib intercepted one vehicle Alto-800 bearing registeration number *JK04B-0592* with two persons onbroad.
During search, *100 grams of Charas like substance which was covered in maize cob leaves* was recovered from their possession.The drug peddlers were arrested on spot who were subsequently identified as:-
*1. Riyaz Ahmad Dar S/O Wali Mohd R/O Khari bagh Gopal Saif Chadoora*
*2. Mohd Altaf Rather S/O Mohd Akbar R/O Chill Panzan Chadoora*
Case FIR number *205/2022* under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
