*A meeting between two protagonists was held at the Jammu headquarters to converse about the progression plans in Ganderbal district.*
Jammu, 20 December: Chairperson J&K Waqf Board (Minister of State J&K), BJP national executive member and spokesperson Dr. Daraksha Andrabi offered her congratulations to newly appointed District President for Ganderbal Mohammad Amin. She said that together we will take the developmental work to new heights in district Ganderbal. Shah commented that the Waqf Board of Jammu & Kashmir holds the duty to safeguard and maintain several old temples and other religious sites scattered throughout Jammu and Kashmir. However, in the past few years, the board has been absent of necessary oversight, clarity and responsibility, leading to queries being raised concerning its operation and management. After the inclusion of personnel like Dr. Andrabi, pertinent modifications were performed in the direction of the waqf board, with the induction of many new personnel who had an upstanding and spotless record, which not only gave the board a much-needed boost but also enhanced their functioning and maintained the faith of people in the Waqf board. Shah applauded Dr. Darakshan Andrabi, the chairperson of the Waqf board, for her exemplary work and changes she has implemented in the waqf board. While talking about a variety of topics concerning the waqf board, Dr. Andrabi committed to visiting Ganderbal and gauging the Waqf properties and the way they are being operated. The topics of discussion included the renovation of orphanages, Darul Ulooms, and shrines, as well as the building of mosques around the shrines. Also, there was discussion about providing drinking water and bathrooms for travelers.
Dr. Darakshan Andrabi urged the Ganderbal district president to prioritize the recognition of holy places, mosques, and waqf land in the area. She suggested that Mr. Shah should identify any unauthorized occupation of waqf property and stern measures will be taken to reclaim the land that belongs to the public and not to any individual. In addition, Madam Andrabi vowed to make use of the land for public benefit for the people of district Ganderbal.
