CRICKET TOURNAMENT FOR YOUNGSTERS

The youth in valley is crazy about sports and cricket is such a great engagement for them. So as to bring together the local cricket clubs on a competitive platform, 35 Battalion, CRPF of Srinagar Sector, under guidance of Sh. Mathew A. John, DIG, Srinagar South, collaborated with

“Humhama Youth Welfare Association”. The 4 days tournament for 8 teams, was inaugurated at Sports Ground, Humhama, on Saturday, by Sh. Nikhil Rastogi, Commandant-35 Bn, in the presence of Sh. Javed Ahmad Kuchhe, Senior member of Intezamia Committee, Shah-e- Hamdan Masjid and senior officers of CRPF and CISF and large number of force personnel and civilians.

A team of CRPF is also brushing its shoulders with the local teams during the tournament. The inaugural match was played between BCC (Baghender Cricket Club) and 35 Bn CRPF Cricket team. This unique initiative has resonated very well with the locals. Sh. Javed Ahmad Kuchhe, Sr. member, Intezamia committee, Shah-e- Hamdan Masjid, Humhama was all praise and congratulated Srinagar Sector CRPF for such an initiative. In a message to the youngsters, Ms. Charu Sinha, IG, Srinagar Sector, CRPF conveyed that youngsters in the valley are very talented in different sports and must be encouraged to take their sports on higher competitive levels. She appealed everyone to participate enthusiastically in such initiatives and work towards peace and harmony in the region.
