DC Kupwara chairs DLVMC; reviews implementation of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray today chaired a maiden meeting of District Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee (DLVMC) to review the implementation of SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989.

The meeting held a threadbare discussion and reviewed various measures to be taken at district level for proper implementation of SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

 

The measures which were discussed include reporting precautionary & preventive measures, atrocities & punishment, punishment for giving false evidence, Special Court, compensation to victim, supervision of prosecution SC/ST Protection Cell and measures to be taken by District Administration.

 

On the occasion, the DC directed all the members to ensure implementation of all the measures in letter and spirit.

 

Among others, SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas; SP Handwara, Sheema Nabi and District Social Welfare Officer, Hidayatullah Mir were present.
