JAMMU, OCTOBER 31: Additional Chief Commissioner (ACS), Home, R K Goyal, today visited Surinsar in block Nagrota and listened to the grievances and demands of people besides assessing development scenario in the area under fourth phase of the ambitious ‘Back to Village’ program.
ACS had an exclusive interaction with the PRI members and locals regarding the status of various government schemes being implemented in their respective areas. He also took stock of the issues and concerns.
The participants apprised the ACS regarding their grievances like irregular power and water supply, better link roads, development of tourist spots around Surinsar lake, grid station and connected matters.
ACS sought feedback from locals on Ayushman Bharat Cards, Soil Health Cards, E-Sharam cards, Himayat training, UDID cards, Pani Samities including online services of revenue department and other beneficiary schemes.
He distributed baby kits, chess boards, carom boards, wheelchairs and loan sanction letters among the beneficiaries under various schemes.
Later, Goyal also inspected works done under previous ‘Back to Village’ program besides reviewing other development works being executed in the area.
ACS inaugurated newly constructed additional accomodation hall at Panchayat rest home, Surinsar besides laying foundation stone for lane and drain projects under Capex Budget. He also inaugurated a well constructed with an estimated cost of 1.5 Lakh.
ACS directed the senior officers of the concerned departments for timely redressal of the grievances pertaining to their respective departments.
He said that the motive behind B2V is to get the first hand feedback from the people so that administration can improve in serving the people and help them in eradicating their problems.
Goyal said that ‘Back to Village’ is an opportunity to review the saturation of government schemes under different sectors and also to assess that the benefits of these schemes are reaching to eligible people
Later, ACS attended sports and cultural events at Government Higher Secondary School, Surinsar.
Speaking on the occasion, Goyal asked the students to accord equal focus on their studies and extra curriculum activities as well for their overall personality development.
