ANANTNAG OCTOBER 24: Provincial level inter District Kabaddi tournament for AAG-Boys was today inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Basharat Qayoom at sports stadium Pahalgam in the presence of Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Kashmir, Bashir Ahmad; District Youth Services & Sports officer, Anantnag, Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori; technical officials and field staff of the department.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony Chief Guest while addressing the participants laid stress on active participation in sports activities. He also advised the participants that they will enjoy the game by playing with true sportsman spirit. He also wished that players will work hard to get their place at National and International level.
Earlier, Chief Guest administered a pledge to the participating players under the banner of NASHA MUKHT BHARAT ABHIYAN.
JD, Youth Services & Sports while presenting the welcome address thanked the chief guest for sparing the precious time with the players which will further encourage them to take active part in sports activities. He also threw light on the departmental activities and said that apart from school going children, activities are organized by the department for other persons in the age group of 19 to 35 years under YSS & LG’s Rolling Cup as well.
About, 120 players from ten districts of Kashmir division are participating in the tournament organized by the YSS, Anantnag.
