Sarita Chauhan visits Ganderbal, reviews progress on SSR of electoral rolls

GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 18: Commissioner Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, Sarita Chauhan, who is Electoral Roll Observer for Ganderbal, today chaired a meeting here to review progress on Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls 2022 in the district.

Sarita Chauhan emphasized upon the officers to step up efforts towards ensuring complete enrolment of eligible person as electors for larger interest of democracy. She asked them to generate awareness through camps and events among new and young voters about the significance and need of voting and voting rights.

She impressed upon the EROs and AERO’s to strictly monitor progress on enrolments to make sure that all eligible electors are registered in the Electoral Rolls.

During the meeting, District Election Officer (DEO), Shyambir highlighted progress on ongoing SSR including enrolment of eligible voters, collection of Aadhar numbers on Form 6 and 6B. He informed about digitization of forms on ERO portal polling station wise. He also apprised that all EROs and AEROs have been deployed in the district besides all BLOs have been registered as voters in the concerned Polling Station as per ECI guidelines.

While reviewing percentage of inclusions in the roll, DEO informed that the AEROs have geared up concerned BLOs for house to house visit and sufficient numbers of forms have been distributed so that no voter shall remain unregistered.

The meeting was attended by Deputy DEO, EROs and AERO’s besides other officers of the district.
