Srinagar, 13 Oct 2022. Army and Civil Administration organised an interaction with the youth of Kashmir Valley on successful completion of six batches of “Personality Development Program” popularly known as “Sahi Raasta” at Pattan, Baramulla.
The aim of this program is to address the cognitive minds of the vulnerable youth through essence of Kashmiriyat (peace and prosperity) as an alternative to terrorism and cycle of violence. The vision of this programme is to achieve the dream of Naya Kashmir.
So far 150 youth have participated in various batches under this program where they are taught lessons about life and history and ethos of Kashmir & tenets of Islam. Various experts/mentors teach, guide and interact with the youth during this program.
The occasion was graced by General Officer Commanding Counter Insurgency Force Kilo, and the Commander 10 Sector RR. Speaking on the occasion, GOC Kilo Force said that the Valley is enjoying a period of stability and peace that was not known to it for the past three decades. “Islam has always taught peace and harmony. It is a faith which inspires countless individuals to lead life of honesty, integrity, while bringing hope to many. He further said that some vested interests push their agenda, spoil the mind of youth and put them on a wrong path. The choices that they make at this age do not affect them alone but also affects their family, village, society & country as a whole”.
Quoting the examples of Maqbool Sherwani, Lt Umer Fayaz, L/Nk Nazir Ahmad Wani, the real heroes of Kashmir, the GOC Kilo Force asked them to emulate them.
