Adopt multidimensional strategies for door to door collection of household waste: Dr. Owais

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 24: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed today reviewed the implementation of SBM-G and Plastic Waste Management Plan in a meeting held at mini secretariat, here.

The DC took a thorough review of the implementation of SBM-G and plastic waste management.

At the outset, threadbare discussions were held on the action plan of Plastic Waste Management and present status with regard to implementation of the Action Plan.

The concerned officials apprised the chair that all the blocks are ready to start door to door collection of waste material from 2nd of October.

The DC asked the officers to sensitize the people regarding segregation of solid and wet waste for better waste management. He asked them to act on a multi dimensional strategy to provide all people the facility of collection of household waste materials at their doorsteps.

He also stressed on better coordination among the concerned departments and PRIs so that desired results are achieved regarding successful implementation of Plastic Waste Management Plan and elimination of Single Use plastic.

On the occasion, the DC emphasized on the concerned authorities for taking measures so that the plastic waste is properly and adequately collected, segregated and reprocessed.

Dr. Owais also asked RDD officers to ensure 100 percent door to door collection of waste material including plastic.
