Former UP MLA Mukhtar Ansari was today convicted by the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court for threatening a jailer and pointing a pistol at him. He has been sentenced to two years in prison. The case dates back to 2003 when then jailer SK Awasthi had lodged an FIR against Mukhtar at the Alambagh police station.
