DDC Chairperson Kathua reviews progress of District Development Plan works

KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 13: District Development Council Chairperson Kathua, Mahan Singh today reviewed the status of the works approved under District Capex Budget 2022-23, here at a meeting held in the DC office complex.

DDC Vice Chairperson, Raghunandan Singh; Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey; ADDC, Ankur Mahajan; CPO, Uttam Singh; DDC members and concerned Officers were also present.

The DDC Chairperson took sector wise review of works vis a vis status of the ongoing works, technical and   administrative approvals, status of tenders, allotment of works etc.

The Chairperson called upon the DDC council members to personally monitor the progress of the works going on in their respective jurisdiction. He also called for timely execution   without compromising on the quality of works.

The Chairperson urged all the DDC members and District officers to work as a team and coordinate with each other for successful execution of the District Development Plan under the Capex Budget 2022-23 to fulfill the development aspirations of the people.

The Deputy Commissioner apprised the meeting that the progress of works was being closely monitored by taking weekly reviews. “The officers have been to pace up the progress of the ongoing works to achieve maximum targets” he added.

The DDC Chairperson also asked for sharing the list of all tendered works with PRIs to enable them to monitor the progress.

During the meeting, many other issues were discussed at length viz. release of 2nd installment under PMAY, fixing responsibility of contractors for delaying the works, rationalization of Staff in Schools, filling up of vacant posts of medical staff etc. The meeting decided to ensure early resolution of the projected issues.

It was also given out in the meeting that a proposal to construct a 50 bedded hospital  in Sub Division Bani has been submitted to the Health department  to augment existing health infra. The CMO added that arrangements for operating ultrasound machines have been made.

The CEO Kathua apprised the meeting that nine kanal land has been identified for construction of ten additional class rooms for Government Higher Secondary School Basantpur . He added that a Cluster head system has been introduced to monitor the working of education institutions in a particular area.

The issue of mobile Phone connectivity in isolated areas of the district was also projected during the meeting and directions were issued to the concerned to take up the matter with the service providers to ease the suffering of the people.
