RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 03 : To aware the students regarding  the prevention of Child Labour, the School Education Department Ramban, in collaboration with Social Welfare, Health, ICDS and labour department,  organized a day- long awareness camp here in Government High School, Chanderkote.

Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam was the chief guest on the occasion.

Welcoming the Chief Guest, the Chief Education Officer, Dev Anand    gave an overview of the programme.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted different aspects of Child Labour and legal provisions to prevent the children from exploitations. He asked the teachers to sensitise the children about rules and laws for protection against the child labour.

Highlighting the gravity of the problem, he urged upon the participants to raise public consciousness against the exploitation of innocent young minds.

The DC asked the students to focus on their studies, besides taking part in extra-curricular activities for their overall personality development. He also sensitized the students about different student centric welfare and flagship programmes of the government.

The DC also sensitized the participants about the hazards of the Drug abuse and urged upon the students to become the ambassadors  of Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan by taking  the message  to every nook and corner of the district.

The DC directed the DSWO Ramban to conduct regular inspection of market, especially Dhabas, Hotels and other places to check violation of labour laws and book the violators under extant labour laws.
