Mega Block Diwas/ Grievance Redressal Camp held at Larnoo, Anantnag

ANANTNAG, AUGUST 31: The District Administration Anantnag, under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC), Dr. Basharat Qayoom today presided over the Block Diwas (Public outreach cum Grievance redressal programme) at sub division Kokernag, here.

The camp was attended by PRI members including BDC chairpersons, sarpanches, panches and a large number of local people from the adjacent villages of Larnoo, Wangam, Loharsenzi, Vailoo, Kharpora, Soafshali, Sagam, Takiyamagam, Zalangam, Cheerward, Gujjar Basties of Inderwan, Arhama-B, Tanghard, Panzgam, Hangalgund besides Auqaf Committees, civil society members and prominent citizens of the sub division.

The participants raised their  issues and demands before the chair and the main demands include an additional one bank branch at Larnoo, construction of road for Gujar Basti, drinking  water facilities for Gujar Basti, flood protection works for Bringi nallah, additional staff for PHC Larnoo, development of Margan and Sinthan as tourist destinations, installation of tower at Halan, construction of Naubook Halan road, relief for families affected by recent incessant downpour, issuance of PMAY Huts, land compensation etc.

The DDC heard the issues and demands patiently and assured for redressal of grievances of public importance. He assured the general public of providing every possible help in mitigating their problems and issues.

He also directed the Officers and PRIs for close coordination to ensure prompt delivery of essential services and issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for redressal of genuine demands and grievances of public importance.

Dr Basharat said that it would prove very beneficial when PRI members formulate and implement the plan as per the local needs. He said that the development plan formulated by the Gram Sabhas for the current fiscal includes 2,757 works. He also expressed happiness that the PRI members were fairly satisfied with the work of the line departments including PDD, Jal Shakti, PMGSY, R&B and others.

Among others, SDM Kokernag, Tehsildars of Larnoo, Kokernag, BDOs of Breng, Sagam, Larnoo, BDC Breng, PRI members and Sectoral officers were present on the occasion.

Later, the DDC laid the foundation of the Tehsil building at Larnoo. He also visited under construction GDC Larnoo and directed the concerned engineer to submit the activities and ensure completion as per timeline.

He also directed concerned engineers to ensure completion of truss work at GHSS Larnoo within 3 weeks and inspected PHC Sagam. He also inspected the functioning of the Digitization centre of DLRMP at Larnoo.

Similar Block Diwas cum redressal camps were held at various locations of the district.
