Shri Krishan Chander Government Degree College Poonch in collaboration with CSIR- Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) Bhubaneswar, Odisha India and Attitude Change International Darhal Malkan, Rajouri, J&K, organized one week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) – National e-Awareness cum Training Programme on Intellectual Property Rights (NeAT IPR 2022) as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav between 25th -30th July 2022.
The one-week FDP organized under the patronage of Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah, Principal SKC Govt. Degree College Poonch and Prof. Suddhasatwa Basu Director, CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar, Odisha India.
Prof. (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina former (Rtd.) Principal, PG College Rajouri was the chief Guest in the valedictory function who deliberated upon the essence of IPR for the Scientific Community and Academia. Such activity provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations and trends. He also appreciated the efforts of all the three organizations for providing a platform to budding minds to learn about the IPRs.
Dr. T. Pavan Kumar Senior Scientist and Manager InTEC, CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar, Indiawas convener of the programme whereas Dr. M. Ashaq Raza President, Attitude Change International, Darhal Malkan, Rajouri, J&K and Dr. Mahroof Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany SKC GDC Poonch, J&K were the organizing secretaries of this one-week FDP – National e-Awareness cum Training Programme on Intellectual Property Rights.
Eight resource persons from the Scientific Institutes and Industry delivered lectures on different aspects pertaining to IPR like, Introduction to IPRS-Importance & Impact –(Dr Seema, Scientist, CSIR-IPU,New Delhi), Ideas to IP-Practical Approach with Case Studies, Understanding of Patents -Structure and Criteria – Studies , Patent Search-The Essentials, Practical Approach to Patenting,IPR Career Opportunities (Dr T Pavan Kumar, Senior, Scientist, CSIR IMMT),. Industrial Designs, Copyright, TM- Kapil Arya, CSIR-IPU, New Delhi,Industrial Designs,Copyright, TM (Kapil Arya, CSIR-IPU-New Delhi) Patentability Assessment (Dr Bhanu Verma, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR, Innovation, Protection Unit, New Delhi), Patent Types & Characteristics (Dr Gaurav Krishnan, Principal Scientist, CSIR Innovation Protection Unit, New Delhi), Patent Drafting -Claim Construction –(Dr Ashok Narladkar KRATON Polymers India Pvt.) Patent Filing – Fees, Forms and Formalities –(Dr Debasish Banerjee, Asst. Controller of Patents, IPO, New Delhi), Compulsory Licensing of Patents- Case Studies-( Dr Meera Sharma, General Manager Sonani Jewels Group of Industries, Surat, Gujrat). More than 150 participants including faculty, Scientists, Research Scholar from different Institutions across the country participated in the programme.

Dr. Riaz Ahmed Associate Professor and Dr. Tariq Hussain Sheikh Department of Computer Applications, SKC GDC Poonch, provided technical support, Dr. M. Ashaq Raza moderated the proceedings of the said programme whereas Dr. Maroof Khan presented the formal vote of thanks.
