On 29-June-2022, acting on specific information 14 RR and 3rd Battalion CRPF along with JKP arrested one terrorist of banned LeT outfit by establishing a joint check post at Papchan Bridge, Bandipora. Terrorist has been identified as Mehboob-ul-Inam @Farhaan S/o Inam-ul-Haq Shah R/o Nadihal Bandipora. On his search, 01 Chinese Grenade was recovered from his scooty. On further interrogation the arrested LeT terrorist disclosed before Security Forces that he is associated with LeT and on the directions of LeT outfit has made a hideout inside his shop at Nadihal Market, where killed terrorists of LeT namely Hyder @Abu Muslim, Abu Ismail @Faisal, Abu Hamza @Okasha and Gulzar @Faizan used to hide. Furthermore he also confessed that they had kept Arms, ammunition and IED materials inside the hideout for which they were planning to recruit some local youths from North Kashmir especially from Bandipora District to strengthen the cadre base of LeT organization.Later on the hideout was busted and large cache of arms and ammunition including three AK-47 Rifles along with RDX & IED materials were seized.
As per sources terrorists were planning to carry out attacks on Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Convoys in coming days. Their aim of the was to cause major disruption during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. Pakistan’s desperate attempts to cause fear and panic amongst the locals are aimed at disturbing the prevailing peace and normalcy in the valley. All efforts will be made by the security forces to deny terrorists any space to operate freely. By arresting one terrorist and busting of a big hideout, a major incident has been averted.
