BARAMULLA, JUNE 14: A delegation of Bar Association Baramulla led by its president met Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar and put forth several demands pertaining to the Judicial.

On the occasion, the delegation put forth several demands of public importance and sought timely intervention of DC for fulfilling these demands.

The DC gave a patient hearing to the demands put forth by the deputation and assured to fulfill them at the earliest possible time.

Meanwhile, DC issued on-spot directions wherein she directed the concerned authorities that drinking water facilities be made available. She also affirmed about the Consumer court to continue its functioning in District Court Baramulla besides execution of development works across District to be taken up on fast track basis.

Later, the DC along with other senior officers of the district visited One Stop Centre (OSC), Baramulla where she interacted with the whole staff and management of OSC.

During the interaction, the OSC staff appraised DC about the functioning of OSC and requirements that are needed for its smooth functioning.

Dr Sehrish assured to provide full support and assistance to the Sakhi-OSC, so that cases of domestic violence are redressed across all sections of the society and affected women will get assistance in legal, medical, psychological domains.

The DC impressed that the recruitment of staff of OSC should be completed on immediate basis besides directing that the infrastructure of the OSC should be fully established on priority.

Furthermore, the awareness about the centre and its functioning was made a point of focus.

District Social Welfare Officer Baramulla, Nisar Ahmad Wani, Women Welfare Officer, LCPO were present on the occasion.
