April 18: As part of Public outreach programme, police organised Thana Diwas (an initiative of Government of J&K) at Police Station Boniyar.
The Programme was chaired by SHO Boniyar besides, other officers and officials were also present on the occasion. The meeting was attended by the respectable citizens of nearby villages including Boniyar, Trikanjan, Tathamulla, Pehlipora, Bernate, Banali, Rampur, Chellan & Bela, members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars and Traders Federation.
On the occasion, the participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured by the officers that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasion, the chairing officer said that Thana Diwas is an initiative started by the Government of J&K to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses. He further added that community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.
The participants were stressed to co-operate with Police in maintaining Law & Order in the area and identifying anti national and anti social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment. The participants in the meeting assured their full co-operation to Police in tackling social evils.
