April 18: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Post Watergam headed by DO PP Watergam at a checkpoint established at Chatloora Crossing arrested a drug peddler identified as Muhammad Lateef Parray son of Ghulam Nabi Parray resident of Hib Dangerpora Sopore. The police party recovered 110 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 42/2022 under relevant sections of the law stands registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddler in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddler should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
