Doda, March 21:-Spree of making earth green is continued and to do so 11th world forestry day was celebrated by Forest Division Doda.
The occasion was graced by Conservator Forest Chenab Circle Doda Dr Jitendra Singh along with DDC Kashtigarh, respective PRIs,locals and concerned field staff.
The world forestry day was celebrated by planting saplings in village Khandaan falling in comptt.08/Sj of Dhandal forest block. The students from the schools of the area were also included and were also made to plant saplings.They were enlighten with the benefits of growing trees and were given responsibility to take care of the planted saplings in the future.
It is pertinent to mention here that the world forestry day is being celebrated since 2012 as decided by the United Nations General Assembly and this year theme was “Forests and sustainable production and consumption.”
