SOPORE POLICE ARRESTED TWO MORE DRUG PEDDLERS, PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCE RECOVERED, VEHICLE SEIZED

Sopore, 26 February 2022:

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and taking stringent action against the drug peddlers, Sopore Police has launched massive hunt against Narcotic peddling in the Police District.

On 25 february, Police Party of Police Station Bomai led by SHO Insp. Imtiaz Ahmad laid a strong naka at zindri crossing under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Sopore Shri. Furqan Qadir-JKPS. During checking police party intercepted a vehicle (Eeco white color) bearing registration number JK04D 7480 in which two persons were on board.

On preliminary questioning, the two persons were identified as:
1. Basit Ahmad Lone and 2. Mudasir Ahmad Ganie both the residents of Tujjar Sopore.

During their personal search and search of the vehicle 144 tablets of SPASMOPROXYVON Plus were recovered from their possession. Both the persons were arrested and Psychotropic substance was also seized on the spot.

In this regard Case FIR No. 08/2022 U/S 8/22, 29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bomai and further investigation has been taken up.

Sopore Police once again appeals general public to cooperate with Police by way of sharing inputs related to Drug peddling so that culprits could be curbed effectively.
