BANDIPORA, JUNE 20: The Bandipora district administration has started upgradation and macdamization of Hajin-Ajas road via Sadunara, fulfilling the long pending demand of the people.
Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad said the demand for upgradation of the road was flagged by public representatives several times during Public Darbars. He said responding to the public grievances; Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad flagged this road for upgradation on priority. He said the issue was taken up with Economic Reconstruction Agency and the work was started on the 7.2Kms long road at the cost of Rs 8 Cr.
Officials said about 2 KMS have been macadamized so far and work is going on to complete the work well in time. The macdamization of the road will ease the problems of people who were facing problems while traveling on this road full of potholes. Locals said the completion of this road will shorten the time taken to travel from Hajin to district headquarter.
Locals thanked District administration for flagging the importance of this road and repairing it.
