Srinagar : JKPCC General Secretary and DDC member from Surankote A constituency Shahnawaz Choudhary met chief secretary Anil Kumar Mehta at civil secretariat in Srinagar on Tuesday. Shahnawaz Choudhary congratulated and felicitated him on taking over charge as chief secretary.
During meeting Shahnawaz Choudhary discussed the problems faced by people of Peer Panjal and particularly people of Poonch district. He requested him to consider decision of opening mughal road for common citizens as Peer Panjalis are facing problem due to closure of this road, as Govt. Employees, students and traders are facing difficulty to travel.
Panchayati raj institution and particularly role of DDC members was also discussed during this meeting. Shahnawaz stressed that Govt. should fully empower the 3 tear Panchayati raj institution in J&K, so that the local self governance can be ensured, and the far flung areas of the State can be developed by the PRIs.
Both of them had detailed conversation about health infrastructure, Education, Roads to connect the left out areas, power infrastructure, water availability schemes, sports etc. of Distt. Poonch in general and Surankote particularly. while discussing this Shahnawaz Choudhary also demanded trauma hospital for district Poonch. Chief Secretary assured him that adminstration will definitely look into these problems on priority basis. (By Sayed Kamran Ali)
