SRINAGAR, MARCH 31: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Jammu & Kashmir today distributed Sewing Machines and other tailoring accessories among the beneficiaries under Livelihood project ‘Shehjar’.
The beneficiaries were trained in Cutting and Tailoring by IRCS, J&K with an objective to support the Women headed households to earn their livelihood. The material was distributed by Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Honorary General Secretary, IRCS, J&K, Imam Din, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and other officials of IRCS and District Administration.
To promote hygiene amongst the women-folk particularly those belonging to weaker sections of society, IRCS, J&K UT branch flagged off Awareness programmes on Female Hygiene.
Honorary General Secretary, IRCS, J&K Kifayat Hussain Rizvi inaugurated the drive in Baramulla on 30th March 2021. Experts from the Health Department and volunteers of Red Cross educated the females on personal hygiene which was followed by the distribution of hygiene kits to the participants.
The events were organised at Boys Higher Secondary Baramulla and Hajibal village in Baramulla. Further, same activity was carried out in Srinagar District at Zahidpora, Hawal and adjoining areas on 31st March 2021. The drive shall be extended to other districts also.
