In a major success, continuing JKP’s #WarOnDrugs offensive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, District Police Udhampur recovered approximately 1 kg 315 grams of charas-like contraband substance from two narcotic smugglers, one of whom is Jaleel Ahmad Shah from Kanispora, Baramulla. The arrests were made at Chenani naka point, NHW.

The police party from PS Chenani, led by its SHO, conducted routine vehicle checking at the Chenani naka point, during which an Audi car (registration number DL8CZ-9667) was stopped for a thorough search. During the search, approximately 1 kg 315 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from the possession of the two smugglers, who were arrested on the spot.

The narcotic consignment, along with the vehicle, was seized, and a case has been registered under the relevant sections of law at PS Chenani. Further investigation into the case is underway.
