Directs to enhance Vigilance to ensure fair polls
SHOPIAN, AUGUST 28: The Expenditure Observer, Shopian, Nelapatla Ashok Babu today conducted an extensive tour of Babapora, Zainapora, and Safanagar areas of the Zainapora AC to check the working of field teams of SSTs and FSTs.
The visit was part of the preparations for the elections scheduled for 18 September 2024 in 36-Zanapora and 37-Shopian Assembly Constituencies.
Accompanied by teams from the Excise Department and the Police, the Expenditure Observer interacted with the Flying Squad Teams (FST) and Static Surveillance Teams (SST).
He directed the teams to strictly adhere to the Election Commission’s guidelines, emphasizing the need to curb illegal expenditures, including cash distribution and the use of drugs and liquor.
The Observer instructed the teams to maintain strict monitoring at all entry points to the district, ensuring that no illegal activities compromise the electoral process.
Additionally, the Expenditure Observer visited various brick kilns to inspect and prevent the illegal use or distribution of liquor and other prohibited substances.
