SRINAGAR, AUGUST 15: Amid heavy downpour, the Secretary Legislative Assembly, Manoj Kumar Pandit, today hoisted the National Flag on the 78th Independence Day here in the lawns of the Assembly Complex in presence of officers and officials of the Assembly.
While addressing the gathering, Secretary remarked that besides celebrating our Independence it is also time to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, who fought tirelessly for safeguarding our rights and liberties. He made out that it is also time to honour the visionaries who shaped the destiny of our nation and the unsung heroes who continue to contribute to its progress.
He reminisced that over the years, India has made tremendous strides in the fields of science, technology, arts and culture and has been a shining example of democracy, diversity and resilience being the largest democratic country in the world. He however voiced that this journey is far from over as we still face challenges that require collective efforts and determination.
Pandita in his address beckoned for making pledge to work together towards a brighter future, where every citizen has access to quality education, quality health care and equal opportunities. He called for striving towards building a strong nation where every voice is heard, every dream is nurtured and every aspiration is fulfilled.
