SRINAGAR, AUGUST 09: The Director Ayush J&K, Dr. Mohan Singh today chaired a review meeting in the conference Hall of Mini-secretariat Bandipora regarding the functioning of Ayush sector in District Bandipora.
At the outset, Dr Firdous Ahmad Malik, District Nodal officer Ayush Bandipora gave a detailed presentation on the functioning and issues of the District.
Dr Mohan Singh, Director Ayush J&K reviewed the work-done by Ayush Health and Wellness Centres and Ayush Units of District Bandipora. He emphasized that every AHWC must ensure that the data is uploaded on a daily and monthly basis on the AB-HWC portal of the Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India.
He also reviewed the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects of Ayush Health and Wellness Centres, construction of Ayush Dispensaries and other projects in the District. He advised for effective implementation of various Ayush Public Health programs so that the strength of Ayush systems of health promotion, prevention and management of diseases can reach the general public.
He directed that every AHWC must ensure standards of Health Care delivery as per NABH standards. He also reviewed the status of Accreditation of 05 AHWCs of District Bandipora with standards of NABH.
During the meeting, the Director highlighted several key achievements and ongoing efforts in the promotion of Traditional Systems of medicine, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, and Homeopathy. Emphasizing the importance of holistic health, the Director expressed a strong commitment for integrating Ayush practices into the mainstream healthcare System.
The Director reviewed the establishment and operational status of Ayush Health and Wellness Centres in Bandipora. Plans to increase the OPD and outreach of these centres, especially in remote and underserved areas, were discussed to ensure broader access to Ayush healthcare services.
The importance of raising public awareness about the benefits of Ayush treatments was emphasized. Strategies for conducting regular health camps, wellness workshops and educational programs were deliberated to involve the community for promoting Ayush practices.
The Director also stressed upon the reorientation training programs for Medical officers, supportive staff and ASHAs in order to provide better Ayush healthcare facilities to the general masses. Discussions were held on integrating Ayush services with existing healthcare facilities in Bandipora District. Collaborative efforts with local hospitals and health departments were proposed to ensure a holistic approach on Ayush Principles and Practices.
Besides, all Medical Officers of District Bandipora, the meeting was also attended by Dr Nuzhat Bashir, Deputy Director Ayush Kashmir; Dr Sujad Hussain Shuja, Assistant Director, Directorate of Ayush, J&K; Section officer Directorate of Ayush and State Program Manager National Ayush Mission.
